Awesome sauce

Capcom had a great 2019 thanks to Resident Evil 2: Remake and Devil May Cry V. Both games applied the same formula — better graphics, classic characters, variable difficulty, and tight gameplay. In the case of DMCV you also get wonderful humor and top tier hack ‘n slash action. Dante and Nero both play beautifully thanks to fun weapons and crazy combo potential. I did not love playing as V the weird summoner but it didn’t ruin the experience. Truly the characters have always been one of the series’ strongest points. Lady, Trish, and Nico are all enjoyable support characters. DMCV: Special Edition pumps it up to 11 by making Vergil playable too. It was a natural progression given the zany Vergil-centric story. The fantastic soundtrack and added bonus modes and difficulty levels are the cherry on top.

Even years after release this one is still at the top of its genre.
